 The Company Bio Medica International SA, a company that offers medical services at international standards, was founded in 1992 by a team of medical professionals who have extended US management experience. During this period it has become well known in Romania as a private provider of the highest quality medical services.
“Partner in Health” is our motto. In order to assure the health status of our clients and to manage emergency situations quickly / efficiently we have developed a complete system that combines distinct departments which are working interdependently. We came with a new approach: integrated medicine: medical center with the private rooms in the emergency hospitals and connection with the first private ambulance service in Romania.

Medical Center
- diagnosis and treatment center, open seven days a week;
- over 36 different medical specialties offered by well trained specialists;
- a wide variety of medical investigations (laboratory tests, imagistic exploring: x-Ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and other paraclinic parameters);
Bio Medica North
- is the main Bio Medica lab facility. Over 250 lab tests are available: hematology, biochemy, endocrin and metabolic disorders, immunology, tumor immunodiagnosis, toxicology, bacteriology etc with prompt results. The laboratory is undergoing accreditation of RENAR for ISO 17025 and 15189 implementation (medical laboratory). In the Medical Center Bio Medica North are available specialist consultations: general medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, ENT, homeopathy, acupuncture, phitotherapy, Chinese medicine and reflexotherapy.
Ambulance Service Department – DOCTORS HOME VISIT
- we have the largest private ambulance service;
- we provide medical assistance 24hours/day, 7days/week, 365 days/year;
- we provide medical transportation and medical evacuation throughout Romania and international by ambulance.
In the last year we have developed a strong partnership with air ambulance service that is accomplished by helicopter (the air evacuation is possible all over the country: Tulcea, Sf. Gheorghe, Craiova, Iasi, Constanta) and by plane, according with the patient needs and the destination of flight.
Our coverage area includes Central and South-East Europe as well as Middle Eastern countries and US.
We offer medical expertise for international airline companies and also provide medical escort at their demands (a highly professional medical crew formed by a suited medical doctor and nurse, which speak multiple foreign languages).
We made numerous flights escorting patients to New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, Paris, Hanoi and Israel and many missions as an air ambulance to Anaya – TR, Wien, Lintz – A, Pescara – I, Frankfurt – G, Munich –G, Heidelberg – G, Rostock – G, Erlangen -G.
We have contracts with most prestigious and important hotels in Bucharest e.g. Marriott, Sofitel, Hilton, Ambasador, Intercontinental, Lido as well as many Romanian and foreign companies;
Private Rooms in Emergency Hospitals
- 11 private rooms in The Emergency Hospital of Bucharest;
- 5 private rooms in The St. John Emergency Hospital;
- 2 private rooms in The Grigore Alexandrescu – Pediatrics Emergency Hospital;
- all the rooms meet four stars hotel standards – the Hotel – Hospital concept was innovative for the country;
- 24 hours Bio-Medica nursing staff supervision, providing also permanent communication between patient, families, doctors;
- Accessibility to all the latest investigation equipment (CT-scan, MRI) – by contract with Emergency Hospital.
Occupational Health
- Annual and periodical medical check-ups according with Romanian regulation: Low 319 / 2006 and HG 355 / 2007, along with the subsequent welfare and monitoring of the people who have duties where safety is an issue;
- pre-employment medical examination;
- medical assistance for working accidents or severe / acute diseases;
